The Department of Recreation and Parks is hosting a variety of different activities and celebrations to commemorate Black History Month. Below is the tentative schedule of events and activities:

Tuesday, February 3: Family Movie Night featuring Cool Runnings at Harriet Tubman Cultural Center. Doors open at 6:30pm and movie starts at 7pm. Register online hereFREE!

Friday, February 6: Understanding the Black Diaspora Through Food at the Harriet Tubman Cultural Center from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM. Register online hereFREE!

Saturday, February 7: Unfulfilled Promises, Shifting Allegiances, and Black Freedom: Self Determination of Enslaved People During Three American Wars (HoCo250) at Ellicott City Colored School from 1-2:30 pm. Register online hereFREE for all ages!

Thursday, February 12: Black Book Exchange at the Harriet Tubman Cultural Center from 4 – 7 PM. No registration required. FREE!
