  • Camps, programs & tournaments may resume at 100% capacity. 
  • Face coverings are required indoors.
  • For youth programs: Keep your child home if they are experiencing any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 or any other illness or if exposed to someone who has had signs or symptoms of COVID-19. Please see CDC guidelines for specific COVID-19 symptoms.
  • For adult programs: You should stay home if you are experiencing any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 or any other illness or if you have been exposed to someone who has had signs or symptoms of COVID-19. Please see CDC guidelines for specific COVID-19 symptoms.

  • Masks are required in all County buildings. All employees and the public are required to wear masks upon entry and throughout common areas, including elevators, stairwells, and/or meetings with other employees or visitors.
  • Indoor facilities are open at 100% capacity. 
    • Exceptions: Belmont Manor & Historic Park, and Waverly Mansion are open by appointment only.

    • The Roger Carter Community Center Pool
    • The Worthington Dog Park 
    • Pavilions
    • Outdoor bleachers
    • Dugouts & bleachers at parks
  • Kayaks, paddleboats, and canoe rentals at Centennial Park will remain closed for 2021.

​CAPRA Accreditation
Content

Howard County Recreation & Parks is recognized through the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA). The Department met 144 standards encompassing all operations contained in leisure services. These professional standards serve as an aid for improving performance and maintaining quality. They provide park and recreation agencies with an ability to evaluate their operation, while achieving and maintaining a level of efficiency and effectiveness. The Department is one of only 102 accredited agencies in the United States.
