NEXT LEVEL Field Hockey Camps with Kristy Hartman Mumma
Programs are directed by Kristy Mumma, UMBC alumnae, former USA FUTURES, Division I college and Hymax club coach. Kristy brings her passion for field hockey and true love of sports to each program. Camp staff embrace and exhibit the “excellence in athletics” principle that sports can teach life skills and lessons. Coaches are former or current college coaches and players with decades of experience and the love of the game. Campers must provide a field hockey stick, shin guards, mouth guard, cleats or turf shoes, certified field hockey eye goggles, a filled reusable water bottle/thermos and $2 for a backup mouth guard. Beginner Camp (6-14 yrs): New to field hockey? This is the camp for you! Recommended for beginners only, and designed for players with little or no experience. Learn the basics of field hockey in a fun, welcoming environment. Instruction focuses on development of individual basic sills of possession, passing, receiving, shooting on goal, team concepts and small group play.
Next Level Camp (8-16 yrs): This camp is designed to take your game to the next level! This session is an open/small group/team camp and is available for individuals, small groups or teams for a recreational league experience to advanced level. Campers are trained with those with similar capabilities and experience, but challenged with scrimmage time daily. Players with only recreational league experience benefit from refining basic skills and training in small skill groups to build their field hockey game knowledge. More advanced players benefit from the depth of knowledge and broad experiences of the coaching staff with advanced techniques. Improve every aspect of your game; master individual skills, laser focus your shooting techniques, harden your defensive tactics and enhance game awareness for better real-time decision making. Leave camp with a fresh look at amazing game of field hockey and skills to practice at home.
