Howard County's Diversity Day Celebration

Wednesday, September 26, 2018
10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Meadowbrook Athletic Complex (MAC)
5001 Meadowbrook Lane, Ellicott City, MD 21043

Howard County Government strives to foster an environment that welcomes and values diversity within the County. Diversity Day allows us to come together and encourage respect, harmony and tolerance, increase understanding of contributions made by persons from a variety of ethnic and cultural groups, and enhance and strengthen communication among County employees. To celebrate that diversity, Howard County Government is sponsoring a Diversity Day for its employees.

Come enjoy an array of ethnic food, entertainment and homemade arts, crafts and goods!

Please be sure to obtain permission from your supervisor to attend and ensure that coverage for your office is maintained throughout the duration of the event.  Everyone is encouraged to attend!

Entertainers and Vendors WANTED!

If you know someone who has a particular talent and would be interested in performing at Diversity Day, please contact Nkechi Animashaun at nanimashaun@howardcountymd.gov

If you know someone who has a particular ethnic art, crafts or goods they might want to sell at Diversity Day, download the Vendor Booth request form. Tables are FREE of charge, but are limited in availability. Priority will be given to organizations and vendors committed to community/workforce diversity and who represent the diversity of Howard County employees, residents and organizations. For questions and/or more information about vendor booth space, please contact Margery Sayers at msayers@howardcountymd.gov.

Transportation

Parking is available in the front, side and rear of the building. Additional free parking is also available in the Meadowbrook Park and Long Gate Park & Ride parking lots. A short quarter mile walk along the park’s pathway system, located west of the tennis courts, will take visitors to the MAC. If possible, we encourage attendees to carpool.

In addition, a shuttle service from various County Government offices buildings will also be provided. Stay tuned for more details.
