Howard County Government strives to foster an environment that welcomes and values diversity within the county. Diversity Awareness Day allows us to come together and encourage respect, harmony and tolerance, increase understanding of contributions made by persons from a variety of ethnic and cultural groups, and enhance and strengthen communication among County employees. To celebrate that diversity, Howard County Government is sponsoring a Diversity Awareness Day for its employees.
Howard County Executive Calvin Ball invites you to come celebrate with your co-workers and enjoy an array of ethnic food, entertainment and homemade arts, crafts and goods! All County employee attendees will be given $8.00 in food truck tickets to be pend at the food truck(s) of their choice.
In addition to your hour lunch break, County employees will also be allotted an additional hour and a half (that's a total of 2.5 hours) of time to enjoy this year's event, as well as to allow for travel times. County employees are however reminded to please be sure to obtain permission from your supervisor to attend and ensure that coverage for your office is maintained throughout the duration of the event. Everyone is encouraged to attend!
