Michelle Bailey Hedgepeth was named as Assistant Chief Administrative Officer on January 31, 2022, to work in the areas of local business relations, procurement, fleet, and other internal projects and services. Professionally, her specialties are strategic planning, performance measurement, local government policy implementation and analysis, labor relations, and other related areas.
Before coming to Howard County, she worked for Maryland National Capital Park and Planning Commission, Prince George’s County Planning Department as Management Services Division Chief. Michelle has over twenty years of experience in local government operations and several years of experience working in various cities and towns across the country and throughout Maryland in management roles.
Bailey-Hedgepeth holds both a Master’s in Public Administration from Florida State University, Tallahassee, Florida, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana.
