Competitive Cheerleading

Red Diamond Recreation All-Star Cheerleading (5-14 yrs)

New this year is an All Star Recreational Cheer program offered by Howard County Recreation and Parks.  The Red Diamond Cheer program is a Recreational competition cheer program.  Our Cheer Director is Felicia Hughes, who has won several competitions in the Mid-Maryland league and won bids for teams in the Cheer & Dance Extreme competitions. When participants cheer for games, they often have cheerleading cheers put  together around a certain part of the game such as the defensive play, an offensive play or a position. However, with cheerleading competition, we will teach them to develop skills and cheers together around specific elements that the judges are looking for in competition against other cheerleader teams.  The program is designed to teach cheering techniques, with an emphasis on safety first. Practice will begin in August, with competitions beginning in October. For more infomration, please contact Sandra Lambert at slambert@howardcountymd.gov
