Baby Water Play: Parent/Child - 6 mos - 2 yrs - Eight 30 minute group lessons. $80.00

  • Parents learn how to work safely with their children in the water, including how to appropriately support and hold them. The focus of the class is for children to develop water comfort. With an adult, children explore safe water practices including submerging, buoyancy, gliding and changing body position in the water through play. Swimming diapers must be worn in addition to swimwear.

Aqua Tots: Parent/Child - 3 yrs - Eight 30 minute group lessons. $80.00

  • This parent/child class creates the foundation for safe practices in the water. Parents support their children as they become familiar with the aquatic environment. Children will be introduced to basic water skills such as water entry and exit, breath control, buoyancy, treading and swimming on the front and back with support. Swimming diapers must be worn in addition to swimwear for non-potty trained children.

Preschool Swimming - 4 - 5 yrs - Eight 30 minute group lessons. $80.00

  • Level 1 - Your child becomes familiar with the aquatic environment and learns basic water skills such as water entry and exit, breath control, buoyancy, treading and swimming on the front and back with support. This class creates the foundation for safe practices.
  • Level 2 - Children become more independent through more advanced fundamentals of water entry and exit, breath control, buoyancy, treading and swimming on the front and back with assistance as needed.
  • Level 3 - Children practice independent water entry and exit, breath control, buoyancy, treading and swimming on the front and back at a more proficient level. Emphasis is on improved coordination of combined simultaneous and alternating arm and leg actions. Children must be comfortable floating, gliding and swimming in 5' without assistance.

Aqua Kids - 6 - 10 yrs - Eight 30 minute group lessons. $80.00

  • Level 1 - In this introduction to swimming, learn basic water safety and skills. Skills include safe entry and exit, breath control, floating and swimming on the front and back.
  • Level 2 - Build on the fundamental skills of entry and exit, breath control and buoyancy. Emphasis on combined simultaneous and alternating arm and led action at a more proficient level. Learning how to swim unassisted as well as treading in deep water.
  • Level 3 - Build on your skills and begin breaststroke, and dolphin kicks. Begin to learn head-first entries. You should be able to swim 15 yds. freestyle and backstroke unassisted and be comfortable in deep water. Class taught in 10' water.

Learn to Swim - 11 - 15 yrs - Eight 30 minute group lessons. $80.00

  • Beginner - Learn basic water safety and skills. Basic aquatic skills including safe entry and exit, breath control, buoyancy, treading, changing direction and swimming on the front and back are taught. Learn how to float and swim without support.
  • Intermediate - After completing Beginner Level and/or able to swim half a length of the pool, build on swimming fundamentals. Entry and exit, breath control, buoyancy, treading, changing direction and longer distance swimming on the front and back will be covered. Deep water safety is introduced. Begin breaststroke and dolphin kicks.

Pre-Swim Team Skills - 6 - 18 yrs - Eight 30 minute group lessons. $80.00

  • In this stroke improvement course, work on the front crawl for longer distances and be introduced to sidestroke, back crawl, breaststroke and butterfly. The basics of turning at the wall and diving are presented. This is the perfect course for those interested in swim team! Pre-requisite: 25 yards of freestyle and 25 yards of backstroke.

Non-Competitive Swim League - 6 - 18 yrs - 16 one hour practices $114.00

  • This recreational league teaches you the basics of swim team drills and timing. Practices are one hour twice a week. Pre-requisites: 25 yard freestyle, 25 yard backstroke and 25 yard breaststroke.

Stroke and Turn Clinic - 10 yrs +  8 one hour practices $100.00

  • Are you already a competitive swimmer? Work on perfecting each stroke and learn flip turns for continuous swimming for competitions and fitness. Pre-requisite: 50-yard freestyle, 50-yard backstroke and 25-yard breaststroke.

Private Swim Lessons - 3 yrs +  Eight 30 minute lessons $254.00

  • Each lesson lasts 30 minutes and are customized to fit individual needs and swimming abilities. Private lessons include one participant to one instructor. Lessons are not transferable. Registration is first-come, first-served. Schedule availability will vary based on the time of registration. Not offered in the Summer.

Semi-Private Swim Lessons - 3 yrs +  Eight 30 minute lessons $441.00

  • Each lesson lasts 30 minutes and is customized to fit individual needs and swimming abilities. Semi-private lesson fee includes up to three participants to one instructor. Adult

Adult - Eight 30 minute group lessons $80.00

  • Beginner - Adults who never learned how to swim or are beginners, this is the class for you. Build on the fundamentals of swimming while developing water comfort. Learn breath control, buoyancy, treading, changing direction and swimming on the front and back.
  • Intermediate - Looking to refine and hone your stroke and turn skills? Adults with intermediate swimming skills who can swim at least half a length of the pool, refine their stroke and breathing skills for continuous swimming. Freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and rhythmic breathing are heavily emphasized.
  • Women's Only - Ladies, join in the fun, new women's only swim lesson program. Learn safe entry and exit, breath control, buoyancy, treading, changing direction, floating, gliding and swimming on the front and back. All lessons will be led by a female instructor.

Private Swim Lessons -  Eight 30 minute lessons $254.00

  • Each lesson lasts 30 minutes and are customized to fit individual needs and swimming abilities. Private lessons include one participant to one instructor. Lessons are not transferable. Master's Swimming - Four or Eight 90 minute practices $24.00 - $48.00

  • RCCC Masters is a year-round program for advanced swimmers with a focus on stroke improvement and fitness. Join an experienced coach and fellow swimmers for a 90 minute workout each weekend.

Seals Swim Team

The Seals Swim team is a competitive 9 week Summer swim team. Practice is held four days a week and competes in five to seven Saturday meets in the Prince-Mont Swim League. Attendance at practices and swim meets is mandatory. Pre-requisite skills: 50 yards front crawl, 50 yards backstroke, and 50 yards breaststroke.

The 2018 Roger Carter Seals team competes in Division F with the Prince-Mont Swim League.

  • Beginning the week of May 29th the practice schedule will run as follows:
    • Group A (Gold and Silver I) - Monday through Thursday 5-5:45pm Water conditioning, 5:45-6pm Dryland Training
    • Group B (Silver II and Bronze) - Monday through Thursday 5:45-6:30pm Water conditioning, 6:30-6:45pm Dryland Training
  • Beginning the week of June 18th morning Technique and Stroke practice will be added from 7-8am (optional additional practice). Both Group A and B will practice at the same time.

Backstroke - 6-16 yrs

  • Learn how to improve your backstroke swimming stroke. Emphasis is placed on stroke technique and improvement. Prerequisite: 50 yards backstroke.

Freestyle Stroke - 6-16 yrs

  • Learn how to improve your freestyle swimming stroke. Emphasis is placed on stroke technique and improvement. Prerequisite: 50 yards freestyle.

Butterfly Stroke - 6-16 yrs

  • Learn how to improve your butterfly stroke technique and timing. Prerequisite: 25 yards butterfly.

Introduction to Butterfly - 6-16 yrs

  • Learn the basics of butterfly kick, pull and stroke. No prior butterfly swim experience required. Prerequisite: 50 yards breaststroke.

Breaststroke- 6-16 yrs

Basic Diving - 6-16 yrs

  • Learn the basics of diving. Topics covered include seated, kneeling, and standing dives from both the deck and diving board. No diving experience required. Prerequisite: 25 yards freestyle and comfortable in deep water. Clinic is taught in 10'6".

Competitive Turns - 6-16 yrs

  • Learn and refine your racing turns and transitions to improve your speed and efficiency. Flip turns, open turn and backstroke flip turn are covered. Prerequisite: 25 yards freestyle, 25 yards backstroke and 25 yards breaststroke.

Lifeguard Programs

Junior Lifeguarding - 12 - 14 yrs - One week $90.00

  • This program is a fun way to learn what it takes to be a lifeguard! You will practice victim recognitions and simple rescues alongside the Roger Carter lifeguard team. Training topics include preventing accidents, responding to emergencies, leadership and professionalism. Participants will also be eligible to become American Red Cross CPR Certified. Swimming is required so pack a suit! Offered in Summer only.

Lifeguard Training - 15 yrs +  28 hours $205.00

  • Prepare to save lives and make a difference in your community! Learn the skills necessary to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies. Specific pre-course swimming requirements include 300 yard swim, timed brick retrieval and two minute tread using only the legs. You must attend every class, successfully complete required skills and pass two written exams to receive the Red Cross certification for 2 years in Lifeguarding/First Aid and CPR/AED for the professional rescuer. You must be prepared to swim at all classes.

Lifeguard Recertification - 15 yrs +  10 hours $125.00

  • This course is for those who are currently certified in American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid and CPR/AED. This is a competency test of skills with limited review with an instructor. Participants must provide copies of current certifications upon registration. Upon successful completion of the review, gain two-year certifications for Lifeguarding/First Aid and CPR/AED for the Lifeguard.
