Howard County has received its share of the CARES Act funding, nearly $57 million ($56,830,393), from the State of Maryland. Coronavirus Updates: Hospital Data Added to Dashboard, Unemployment Insurance Support Videos, Feed Howard County

Howard County has added hospital capacity data to the COVID-19 Dashboard. The additional section of the dashboard breaks down the Howard County General Hospital’s (HCGH) intensive care unit (ICU), acute beds, and ventilators that are in use and available. As one of the key metrics in County Executive Ball’s HoCo RISE framework, this data will be considered as Howard County moves towards reopening parts of our economy.

Coronavirus Updates: Unemployment Numbers, Roving Radish Supports Senior Meals, Virtual Town Hall Next Week

Howard County saw nearly 6,000 residents file for unemployment insurance and pandemic unemployment assistance over the past week. Since the week of March 7th, nearly 23,000 residents have filed for unemployment with Maryland.  The Howard County Office of Workforce Development is available to help connect residents to employers and jobs available in Howard County through its new portal.

On June 15, Howard County Executive Allan H. Kittleman officially reopened the Loan Closet of Howard County at its new location in the Long Reach Village Center. A clearinghouse of donated, refurbished medical and therapeutic equipment, the new location affords county residents greater access to this free equipment.
