Howard County Department of Public Works to host public meeting on North Laurel sewer project

ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Howard County’s Department of Public Works (DPW) will hold a public meeting on Thursday, September 28 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the North Laurel Community Center’s Multi-Purpose Room, located at 9411 Whiskey Bottom Road in Laurel, to discuss the study, design and construction of the Hammond/Patuxent area sewer interceptor improvement project. The project will involve the construction of 15,000 linear feet of sewer in North Laurel. Project limits are bound by MD 216 to the west, the Patuxent River along the Howard County line to the south, Hammond Branch to the north and Junction Drive to the east. Areas to be affected by the work include the 9700 block of Baltimore Avenue, 9500 Block of Cissell Avenue, 9700 to 9800 Washington Boulevard, 8000 block of Greenwood Avenue and 9000 block of Junction Drive.

A formal presentation, including the proposed design plans and construction schedules, will take place starting at 7:00 p.m. After the presentation, DPW staff members will remain on hand to explain the proposed plans, answer any questions and gather public comments.

An interpreter for people who are deaf or hard of hearing will be available if requested seven working days prior to the meeting. Please call the Department of Community Resources and Services at 410-313-6400 (voice) or use Relay at 7-1-1, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
