ELLICOTT CITY, MD – A Howard County construction project to improve a portion of sanitary sewer in the area bound by Fair Street, Baltimore Street, Williams Street and Washington Street in Savage is scheduled to begin on or about Monday, March 13. Approximately 3,500 linear feet of sanitary sewer main will be realigned, and sewer house connections will be connected to the new sewer main. Public sewers will be installed in the public road and county right-of-way. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by late December.

Temporary lane closures can be expected during construction hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. On-street parking restrictions and sidewalk closures will also be implemented during these hours. Local roads west of Foundry Street may be closed to thru traffic during construction hours, with traffic following a clearly marked detour. Flagging operations will be in place to direct traffic as needed and signs will be posted to alert motorists of the construction.
