Family Volunteer Day
Saturday, Nov. 5, 9:00 a.m. to Noon
Parks and facilities throughout Howard County

Join the Department of Recreation & Parks for its annual Family Volunteer Day. This is a day for families, friends, scouts, religious and community groups to increase their sense of unity by assisting with projects that improve our County parks and historic sites. Participants are asked to bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to the Howard County Food Bank. The Giving Thanks Luncheon and Dance
Thursday, Nov. 17, Doors Open 10:30 a.m., Program begins at 11:00 a.m., Lunch at Noon

Howard County older adults are invited to join the Department of Community Resources and Services’ Office on Aging and Independence for its annual Thanksgiving Celebration featuring music by the “A Classic Case.” Attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to be donated to the Howard County Food Bank. Tickets are $14 per person and are available for purchase at all Howard County 50+ Centers now through Thursday, Nov.r 10 at noon; tickets will not be available at the door. Students from Clarksville Middle School will assist in serving the meal. For more information, call 410-313-5440.

Holiday Train Garden
Nov. 19 through Jan. 15, Open Monday through Saturday 7:00 a.m. through 9:00 p.m., Sunday 9:00 a.m. through 6:00 p.m.
Gary J. Arthur Community Center, 2400 MD 97, Cooksville

Visitors of all ages are invited to come and delight in this year’s train garden layout, which features four continuously operating trains and buttons that activate various accessories and sounds. The train garden is open during center operating hours.
