Executive Kittleman to hold administration’s first Town Hall Meeting on March 31 in east Columbia

Session will allow residents to discuss important issues

ELLICOTT CITY - Howard County Executive Allan H. Kittleman today announced the first of his quarterly Town Hall meetings since taking office. This open conversation with residents will be held in east Columbia on Tuesday, March 31 at The Other Barn in Oakland Mills starting at 6:30 p.m.

“I’m not making a speech or setting the agenda. I want to know what’s on people’s minds,” Kittleman said. “We found this format to be effective over the past year, and we want to continue it as a way to work together on our future.”

Kittleman will discuss any subject and field questions from residents, as a way to encourage dialogue on matters of interest. Town Hall meetings are free and open to the public. After this meeting in east Columbia, Kittleman will schedule others in different parts of the county.

“This Town Hall offers the residents of Oakland Mills and east Columbia a great opportunity to visit with County Executive Kittleman and share our input about the future of our community,” said Co-Chairs Ginny Thomas and Bill McCormack, Oakland Mills Community Association Board of Directors, in a joint statement. “It is a chance to collaborate on what matters to us in our everyday lives.”

The Other Barn is located in the Oakland Mills Village Center at 5851 Robert Oliver Place, Columbia, Md. Attendees may begin signing in that evening at 6:00 p.m. There is no need for advanced registration. The session is expected to run no later than 8:30 p.m.
