ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Howard County’s Department of Public Works (DPW) will hold a public meeting on Thursday, August 2, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the cafeteria at Hammond High School, 8800 Guilford Road in Columbia, to discuss final plans for a third left-turn lane along westbound Snowden River Parkway at the Broken Land Parkway intersection. The turn lane is part of a County corridor project to widen Snowden River Parkway between Broken Land Parkway and Oakland Mills Road. These improvements will alleviate traffic congestion in the area and provide a safer and more accessible environment for multiple roadway users, including pedestrians and cyclists.

While there will be no formal presentation, the design plans will be available for public view and staff members will be on hand to explain the proposed work and detour, answer any questions and gather public comments.

Those unable to attend the meeting who would like to view the proposed plans and/or have questions regarding the project should contact Mr. Thomas Auyeung with DPW’s Transportation and Special Projects Division at 410-313-6142 or email tauyeung@howardcountymd.gov

An interpreter for people who are deaf or hard of hearing will be available if requested seven working days prior to the meeting. Please call DPW at 410-313-3440 (voice) or use Relay at 7-1-1, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
