ELLICOTT CITY, MD – The intersection of Vollmerhausen Road and Murray Hill Road in Columbia’s Village of Kings Contrivance will be converted to a three-way traffic stop on or about Tuesday, July 17.

The Howard County Department of Public Works plans to add a stop sign in each direction on Murray Hill Road at the intersection to create the new traffic pattern. Recent studies have shown that traffic volume continues to increase in this area, making the change necessary to improve safety for turning traffic at the intersection. Weather permitting, the project is expected to take one day to complete.

Signs have been posted in the area of the change to alert motorists of the reconfiguration.

For questions or concerns about the new traffic pattern, contact Lisa Brightwell, Public Works Customer Service, at 410-313-3440 or email publicworks@howardcountymd.gov
