ELLICOTT CITY, MD – The Howard County Office of Transportation and Howard Commuter Solutions, in partnership with the Baltimore Metropolitan Council, will host a “Bike to Work Day” event on Friday, May 18 from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. at Whole Foods Market in Columbia. Celebrated each spring across the nation, “Bike to Work Day” promotes clean, fun and healthy commuting as part of our region’s Clean Commute Initiative. Howard County’s event will run in tandem with events taking place in Baltimore City and Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll and Harford counties.

Howard County is committed to making it easy for people of all ages and abilities to get around by bicycle, primarily through the BikeHoward program (www.BikeHoward.com), and most recently, BikeHoward Express, a three-year focused implementation plan to complete a 48-mile network of biking routes in Howard County.
