Patapsco River Road “Green Street” Improvement Project Underway

A Howard County construction project to implement “green street” improvements at three sites along Patapsco River Road to help reduce roadway runoff and provide stormwater infiltration, habitat areas and traffic calming. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by late December.

County to Host Public Workshops on Draft Complete Streets Community Engagement Plan

Howard County Executive Calvin Ball invites the public to join the Complete Streets Implementation Team on Wednesday, September 23rd for two virtual public workshops, which follow the release of the County’s draft Complete Streets Community Engagement Plan. The workshops will take place at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. on the 23rd and last about an hour; note, each workshop will cover the same material.

Howard County North Laurel Connections Project Receives State Grant Towards Construction

Howard County Executive Calvin Ball announced today that the County’s Office of Transportation has been awarded a Kim Lamphier Bikeways Network Program grant from the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) for its North Laurel Connections project. The more than $500,000 grant will assist the Office of Transportation in constructing a 5.6-mile bicycle and pedestrian route between Savage and Laurel.
