Construction & Demolition Debris (C&D)

Pre-Demolition

Check out the EPA's Recommended Practices for Pre-Demolition Removal of Mercury-Containing Devices from Residential Buildings.

Reuse

Don't trash those good items! There are many opportunities for usable building supplies. Here are some locations to check out:

The Alpha Ridge Landfill

The Loading Dock at ARL (2350 Marriottsville Road, Marriottsville, 21104) collects new and reusable building materials. You can also drop-off items at The Loading Dock Baltimore location or call The Loading Dock to schedule a pickup. Visit www.loadingdock.org for details.

Items Accepted: banisters, bathtubs, cabinets, counter tops, doors, hardware, lighting fixtures, lumber, molding, plumbing fixtures, shelving, stairs, toilets, windows and other building materials.

NOTE: Howard County and the Loading Dock reserve the right to refuse any materials deemed unfit. If you have any questions about what is acceptable, please call THE LOADING DOCK at (410) 558-3625.

Don't have reusable items? Residents disposing of construction, demolition and home improvement material as trash will be directed to weigh in at the scalehouse and will be charged $80/ton ($4 per 100 pounds) of waste. This includes deliveries mixed with household waste.
