Local Health Improvement Coalition (LHIC)

The LHIC works to improve health outcomes and reduce health disparities in Howard County. There are participants from more than 40 organizations who bring a variety of perspectives to the work being done. Participation is sought from individuals who have direct experience with health disparities issues.

Howard County’s Local Health Improvement Coalition (HCLHIC) works to achieve health equity in Howard County and to identify and reduce health disparities.

All residents of Howard County will have access to health care and health outcomes will be equitable for all.

Enable people of all ages to achieve and maintain a healthy weight through healthy eating and physical activity.

Behavioral Health
Expand access to behavioral health resources and reduce behavioral health emergencies.

Increase access to health care

Healthy Aging
Align our priorities with those identified by Howard County General Hospital’s Community Health Needs Assessment and will integrate with the work being done by the Office on Aging on the Master Plan for the Aging Population.
