*For Candidates who have received an email stating they have PASSED the Written Exam:

Congratulations on receiving a passing score on the written examination for Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services Firefighter Trainee position. You are now eligible to progress to the next step in the process which is to either successfully complete the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) or provide proof of passing CPAT on or between November 28, 2015 and May 28, 2016.

If you have proof of completion of the CPAT from another jurisdiction and have not yet provided it, please do so by emailing it to Class29@hcdfrs.org or mailing it to ATTENTION: Sarah Campbell, 6751 Columbia Gateway Drive, Suite 400, Columbia, MD 21046.

The link provided will connect you to SignUpGenius.com where you will create an account using the same email address you've used for the entire process.  Here you will sign up for a maximum of two (2) CPAT Mentorship Sessions, two (2) CPAT Practice Tests (Group A or B, not both), and one (1) CPAT Final Test (Group A or B, not both).

Your passcode to sign up for each CPAT Program Activity is: Class29! (Note: capitalization does matter)

Please do not sign up for back-to-back sessions, as your body needs at least a day to recover, and also so that others may have opportunities to sign up.  Please note that in order to sign up for a Mentorship Session, you will need to do this by 5:30pm the day before each Mentorship Session (24 hours’ notice).  After 5:30pm, the sign-up for that particular mentorship date will be locked and you will have to contact an administrator for assistance.  For CPAT Practice Test dates, you will have to sign up 24 hours prior to the test date/time.  For CPAT Final Test dates will have until 12:00pm (noon) the day prior to the Final Test date.

If you are a NO-SHOW at any of your scheduled sessions, your name will be deleted from your next scheduled session, and you will NOT be able to participate in that session.  If you need to cancel/reschedule your session, it is your responsibility to log back in to your account on the SignUp Genius website and be sure to cancel your reservation at least 48 hours in advance.

*You must bring your photo ID, your Candidate Passport, and your signed, and completely filled out, Physician Authorization Form in order to participate.  All candidates MUST wear LONG pants.  After turning in the Physician Authorization form, you will receive a stamp on your Candidate Passport.  If you choose to email or mail your Physician Authorization Form to the addresses noted above, you will receive a receipt via email that must be brought to your first CPAT Program Activity so that your passport can be stamped.

Please follow the instructions carefully and completely.  Your failure to do so may result in your inability to continue in the process.  If you have any questions regarding this sign up process, you may contact us at Class29@hcdfrs.org.
