Summer Youth Employment Program

The Office of Workforce Development Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) provides Howard County youth between the ages of 16 through 24 with paid employment opportunities for the summer. Youth work in entry level jobs at various departments within the county. The program operates on a year to year basis and is based upon available funds allocated to the local areas. Please be sure to check the site frequently in April for a determination.

2016 Summer Youth Application (No Decision has been made)
Eligibility:

  • Must be 16-24 years of age
  • Income guidelines and other restrictions apply
  • All applicants must apply by completing a summer youth application. Employment slots are limited so students are encouraged to submit their packages by the deadline specified on the application.
  • Submit copies of:
    - US birth certificate or resident card
    -social security card,
    - state issued picture ID
    - proof of household income (submit 2 pay stubs, eligibility letter, etc.)
    - work permits are required for all youth under the age of 18. Applicants may apply for a work permit
