Human Rights Commission Award Nomination Form

Nominations will be considered at the Human Rights Commission meeting following receipt of all required information. 


Eligibility Criteria
1. Individuals

To be eligible for this award, individual nominees may be living or deceased, must have lived in Howard County for at least 10 years, have displayed leadership and achievement within Howard County’s human rights movement, and their efforts must have had a lasting impact.

2. Community Organizations 

To be eligible, the organization must be located in Howard County, serve the residents of Howard County and have demonstrated outstanding work toward ensuring the human rights of residents in Howard County are protected. 

Supporting Narrative Information:

Nominators must submit a typed narrative, not to exceed two pages in length that documents the individual’s or organization’s achievements, accomplishments, and contributions to human and civil rights in Howard County. The narrative must include information about the nominee’s human and civil rights endeavors that demonstrate exemplary citizenship, dedicated leadership, and impact in eliminating or eradicating discrimination and advancing human rights for all residents of Howard County.
