2017 Howard County Directors' Conference

Vision for the Future

A Conference For Child Care Center, Nursery and Preschool Directors, Assistant Directors and Owners

Wednesday, March 22, 2017

8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

We look forward to you joining us for a conference dedicated specifically to the needs of early childhood leaders.  The 2017 Howard County Office of Children and Families Directors’ Conference focuses on helping early childhood leaders develop their Vision for the Future. Leaders of early childhood programs are often overwhelmed with administrative tasks and finding the time to dream, design, and inspire gets pushed to the side. This year's conference is packed with presenters to ignite your passion as a Director and provide you with the tools you need to be a visionary director.

The day begins with an opening statement from the new Director of the Howard County Office of Community Resources, Steve Bullock, and is followed by a certified presenter, Valerie Rjota from Harvest Resources, Inc, the publishers of the book The Visionary Director. The day continues with a panel presentation focused on working with a multi-generational workforce, early childhood advocacy, and upcoming regulations and policies.  The final presentation features Donna Thorton-Roberts, a passionate dynamic speaker with over 30 years experience in Human Resources and Child Care.  Her focus is on staff management and the challenges of finding quality staff, improving staff moral and developing your staff’s full potential.  This day will provide you with the motivation and tools to take your program to the next level.
