Howard County Recreation & Parks offers several camps that run throughout the county schools' spring break (April 1-5). Camps are arranged in alphabetical order. Spots are filling fast, so register now!

CKCS Spring Break Camp
Grades K-5 / 4 days starting Apr 2 / Prices below
Back by popular demand! CKCS incorporates science, math and kitchen safety into the preparation of new menus that are fun and delicious! The focus of this camp is spring fare. The classes are taught by the staff of CKCS, including Nikki McGowan, owner of CKCS Food Studio. The week’s cuisine celebrates spring: barbeque, potato salad, fresh fruit and vegetables. Chess Spring Break Camp with Silver Knights Chess
5-14 yrs / 1 wk starting Apr 1 / Prices below
Spend a week playing and learning about chess with the highly rated professional chess instructors from Silver Knights Chess. Campers are broken up into groups by skill level, from beginner through highly rated tournament players. Each camper receives a t-shirt and a tournament-style chess set. Activities include learning openings, tactics and endgames; studying master games; playing games against fellow students and analyzing students’ games, along with some fresh air breaks. Fairy Magic Spring Break Dance Camp
4-8 yrs / 4 days starting Apr 2 / $95
Let your child’s imagination take flight! The theme, fairy Magic, is incorporated each day and expressed through movement, stories and crafts. Dancers share and explore ideas while learning in a safe and creative atmosphere. Camp days include classes in ballet, tap, creative dance and specialty dances, as well as craft time and plenty of time to imagine and make new friends. No experience necessary. Heroes & Villains Spring Break Camp

It's the good vs. the bad in this action-packed spring break camp. Register for one day or the entire week! Students explore some of their favorite stories and the characters who bring them to life. Each day focuses on a different hero/villain combination: Aladdin vs. Jafar (Mon), Snow White vs. The Evil Queen (Tues), Beast vs. Gaston (Wed), Sleeping Beauty vs. Maleficent (Thurs), and Shrek vs. Prince Charming (Fri).
