Important yard trim collection changes.
Howard County reminds residents to use paper bags and reusable containers for yard trim. Plastic bags do not break down and actually reduce the quality of the composted material.
Fall Shredding Event
The next shredding event will be Saturday, October 17th at the Long Gate Park & Ride (exit 1A off of Route 100) from 9am to 1pm (rain or shine). Howard County residents may bring up to 3 bags or boxes of paper to be shredded on-site. Please visit our shredding website to learn about what shredding actually does to the paper.
Starting October 1, 2015, events that serve food and drink may have to comply with a new State and County law to provide recycling.
