Home Modifications and Fall Prevention
Home Modifications Program
The Home Modification/Repair Program was established to promote safety and well-being for older adults in Howard County. The program enables a group of professional partners to provide consultation, along with home modification, repair, and retrofit services to qualified residents who want to remain in their own homes. Residents may benefit from environmental modifications to meet their present or future requirements, such as handrails or grab bars, wheelchair ramps, lighting, alterations to bathrooms, improvements to existing doorways or other access areas, and exterior work. Many services are offered free or at a reduced cost.
