Office of the Fire Marshal

If this is an emergency, please dial 9-1-1!

The Office of the Fire Marshal is committed to reducing the loss of life and property from fire through active community fire prevention programs such as building inspections, evacuation planning, pre-fire planning, general safety awareness, and community risk reduction.

OFM embodies all of the qualities of the department motto, Educate-Protect-Serve, more completely than any other Bureau within Fire and Rescue.  It is our mission to prevent injuries and death, fire and life safety damage and environmental impact. Once the alarm sounds we have missed an opportunity to prevent an emergency.  The more concentration and emphasis placed on Public Education, Code Enforcement and Fire & Explosive Investigation the safer our residents will be.  The goal of this office is to decrease emergencies that are predictable and preventable. Our office interfaces with many County, State and Federal agencies to prevent future incidents that could harm people and destroy property or the environment.  The majority of our customers are external, the public and other agencies but we also provide many services internally.
