Child Care Training

The Office of Children's Services offers a variety of training and education opportunities for those living and working with children and adolescents.  We invite you to attend any event that meets your needs.  Child care providers are encouraged to attend training workshops which meet their professional needs and goals.  Parents, families, and guardians are invited to attend any workshop.  The Howard County Family Institute sponsors events specifically for families.

Howard County Family Institute - Workshops for Parents

Whether you are parenting a high schooler or a first-grader, we know you have questions!  The Howard County Family Institute is a parent education program of the Office of Children's Services, Department of Citizen Services.  We offer informational sessions and training workshops for parents on many topics, including child development, positive discipline, finding resources, and adolescent issues.  To learn more, please call 410-313-1940 or email children@howardcountymd.gov 

 

Street Sweeping

Howard County’s street sweeping program is designed to help prevent street dirt from reaching the waterways and the Chesapeake Bay. Curbs are swept four times each year by a contractor using brush sweepers. Each year we remove approximately 1200 tons
