Communication Services

Communication Services is responsible for providing and supporting telephone installation and maintenance, cabling services for voice and data communications, and wireless service for both voice and data including pagers, cell phones, and 800 MHz radios.

The office maintains extensive radio communications systems to aid our citizens in emergencies and to facilitate smooth government operations on a daily basis. At the heart of this facility is an 800 MHz system which provides extensive and reliable communications via a large infrastructure of towers and communications links. Radio devices used include hand-held devices and others that are mounted inside public safety vehicles, such as police cars and ambulances.

The division of Communication Services is also responsible for providing a wide area network to all government locations with a secure technology infrastructure of the highest possible bandwidth affordable. The division is responsible for acquiring and maintaining a network architecture which must be treated as a fiscal investment to be continually improved and upgraded.
