Environmental and sustainability work in Howard County involves nearly all of our County departments, especially Office of Environmental Sustainability, Planning and Zoning, Public Works, Recreation and Parks, and Economic Development. The County aims to lead by example and challenges citizens to embrace environmental stewardship and sustainability.

Stormwater Management Structures
With proper stormwater management, rain water is directed into a local stormwater management structure where it is stored and slowly released into our nearby streams.
