Cooperator of the Year

Howard Soil Conservation is proud to present its 2008 Cooperator of the year...Mr. And Mrs. Ricky Bauer - Rural Rhythm Farm.

Having installed grassed waterways and grade stabilization structures, planted field filter strips, and retired highly erodible land under conservation cover on his home farm, Mr. Bauer has employed similar practices on other farms in the community. The use of no-tillage and cover crops round out a proved sound conservation cropping system. The Howard District is pleased to recognize the Bauers for their conservation efforts in protecting our natural resources, conserving nutrients, and protecting the Bay.
