Cedar Lane Park is recognized as one of the finest and most popular sports complexes in Howard County. A .8-mile paved pathway connects the park’s two main areas, which cover 93 acres. Each area has its own entrance, a playground and picnic pavilion, first-come first served basis, unless reserved. Recreational areas include two sand volleyball courts, two bocce courts, and several basketball courts. The West area includes 2 lighted synthetic turf fields, as well as 4 lighted ball diamonds. The East Area has 2 natural turf multi-purpose fields available for scheduled use, and 4 tennis courts. Fitness programs are held in the indoor facility located in the West Area. The park is open from 7am to dusk or as posted. Personal grills and hibachis are not permitted. Park regulations prohibit hunting, firearms, and alcoholic beverages. Leashed pets are allowed in the park but not in picnic, playground or sports areas. Howard County law requires owners to clean up after their pets.

Things to Remember

Help keep your parks beautiful. Please take your trash and recyclable items home. Take only pictures and leave only footprints.

Clean up after your dog and keep it leashed. Dog droppings may attract disease-harboring pests, and even a friendly dog can scare birds, wildlife and other park visitors.

All of our parks are inhabited by a wide variety of wildlife such as deer, snakes, fish, rabbits, insects and birds. Please do not disturb them; remember, this is their home.

Flora & Fauna

We are grateful for the years of service and the countless hours that Jo and Bob Solem have contributed to the Howard County Bird Club. Their contribution has been a valuable asset in the gathering of data and documentation of the numerous species of flora and fauna found in our county. Click on the link below for the species list they developed for this park.
