Wage Requirements

The County Code of Howard County, Maryland, as codified through Council Bill 54, enacted on July 30, 2008 set forth wage requirements in Section 4.122A, which require contractors to pay each employee an hourly rate sufficient to at least equal 125% of the federal poverty guidelines. The current wage requirement rate as of January 1, 2008 is $12.75.

Contracts issued by Howard County anticipated to exceed $100,000 for services require written certification to the County from the contractor of its intent to comply with the wage requirements.

More information about the wage requirements may be found in the Howard County Code.
