COMMISSION ON DISABILITY ISSUES

Function:

To evaluate the impact of County Government policies, programs, services and facilities for individuals with disabilities and to advise the County Executive and County Council, and to assist County Government in compliance with the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the American's with Disabilities Act.

Number of Members:

15
Thirteen members must be Howard County residents; at least eight must be persons with disabilities, two relatives of a person with a disability, two service providers, and three general public.

Appointed by:

County Executive appoints. County Council confirms.
