Howard County Police K-9 Patch

K-9 TOMY, Badge #1880

Retired K-9 Tomy passed in May 2008. Tomy was a partner to Lt. Jim Marshall from 1999-2002, and PFC Rob Radnoff’s from 2002 until his retirement in 2007. Since that time, the Marshall family was fortunate enough to have him in their home.

Tomy was an exceptional dog who excelled at tracking and CDS detection. He was well-mannered and gentle, and his work led to over 300 apprehensions. In 2001, he was seriously injured after falling off a loading dock while checking an alarm at a school. He nearly died, suffering a skull fracture which led to him losing sight in his left eye. However, he continued to work another five and a half years.

Because of his good nature, Tomy participated in many K-9 demonstrations and clearly enjoyed being around children. The HCPD is grateful for his service.
