K-9 Max, Badge #979

After 5 years of police service, K-9 Max passed away April 18, 2000. In 1988, at the age of 2, Max became a Howard County police K-9. He served exclusively as a patrol dog, netting 77 apprehensions throughout his career and locating several missing children and mentally challenged adults. Max retired in June of 1993 and remained the family pet until his death.
