Victims Rights

Available to crime victims is the Crime Victims and Witnesses: Your Rights and Services handbook. The handbook is designed to inform you of your rights and to help you use them. The handbook is distributed by the police department.

The handbook discusses victim rights through the investigatory process, during trial, after trial and after sentencing. In addition, there is information specific to domestic violence, sexual assault, the juvenile justice system and the Criminal Injuries Compensation Board.

If you did not receive a Crime Victims and Witnesses: Your Rights and Services handbook, please contact the VAS Coordinator, Kathleen Masterson, at the number listed below.

Contact us if you have questions or comments regarding any assistance provided by members of the VAS. If you prefer to comment by e-mail please visit the Contact Us link on this Web site’s home page. We appreciate and value your input and suggestions.

For additional information or assistance, please contact the Victim Assistance Section at 410-313-3712
