Chief William McMahon selected Officer Erika Heavner as Police Officer of the Month for April.

Heavner has proven herself to be an invaluable asset to the Howard County Police Department. She has consistently produced an “above average” number of statistics, to include insight work, traffic contacts and total arrests. She also has established herself as a well-rounded officer with positive community relations, investigative abilities and aggressive traffic enforcement. She is recognized for her dedication, commitment, persistence and productivity. Heavner serves as a positive role model for all members of the agency.

During the month of April, Heavner had 16 arrests, 39 incidents reported, eight DUI Arrests, 71 traffic contacts and 15 total insights.
