Police Officer of the Month

May 2004

Police Officer First Class Jason Hall has been selected as Police Officer of the Month for May 2004.

During the course of the month of May, PFC Hall demonstrated teamwork, self-initiative and enthusiasm to learn new skills. An example is that PFC Hall requested to and did attend training to learn Command Spanish. This new skill has made an immediate positive impact on his platoon. In one example, PFC Hall was assisting another officer with Spanish translation, which allowed for field sobriety tests to be conducted. The test determined probable cause that the subject was intoxicated and was arrested.

In another case, while on patrol, PFC Hall was initiating a traffic stop on a vehicle driving erratically, the driver attempted to elude PFC Hall but could not. Subsequent investigation found the driver to be impaired by alcohol and was arrested.

During a traffic stop after observing a suspicious subject near Assateague Drive, PFC Hall observed a plastic baggie containing possible cds in the drivers’ wallet. Further investigation revealed an additional 31 bags of possible cds and a handgun. Three arrests were made in this case. On this same tour of duty, He made another arrest for a wanted subject.

Later in the month, PFC Hall made an arrest for destruction of property after a detailed investigation consisting of multiple interviews with different witnesses and suspects.

PFC Hall consistently displays a good attitude and professionalism during each workday.

His self-motivation is evident as 8 of his 9 arrests resulted from self-initiated investigations. Congratulations on a great job!
