Police Officer of the Month

February 2002

Chief Livesay selected Pfc. Mike Ensko as Police Officer of the Month for February 2002.Pfc Ensko's supervisors clearly recognize the consistent quality of his performance.

During the month of February, Pfc Ensko effected a phenomenal twenty-three (23) arrests, conducted ninety-four (94) business checks, handled seventy-nine (79) calls for service, conducted eighteen (18) self-initiated investigations and effected thirty-nine (39) traffic contacts.

Of the twenty-three arrests, eleven(11) were for CDS violations, six (6) were for motor vehicle violations, three (3)were for destruction ofproperty, one (1) was for burglary, one(1)for theft and one (1) for a wanted subject.

Numerically speaking, one cannot help but be impressed with Pfc Ensko's level of productivity, but it does not tell the entire story. Pfc Ensko's unique high-profile presence, his superior investigative skills and his ability to communicate with people on all levels have put a significant dent in the illicit drug trade in the Whiskey Bottom community.

Pfc Ensko's work production is phenomenal. More importantly is the influence he has had on other members of his squad. His leadership has had a noticeable impact on his entire squad. The energy and initiative Pfc Ensko has displayed as a veteran officer provides a great example to his younger peers.

Pfc Ensko's ability to interact with members of the community, to develop information, gather intelligence and apply what he has learned to curb illegal activity in the area has resulted in a decrease in calls for service, nuisance issues and a better quality of life for the law-abiding citizens using the Whiskey Bottom Shopping Center. Pfc Ensko's efforts serve as a valuable example for all.

Congratulations and keep up the good work!

Police Officer First Class Mike Ensko
