CAREGIVER RESOURCES

Caregiving can be a daunting and stressful job. Awareness of services and resources is key to providing the best care possible to a loved one. The Office on Aging, Caregiver Educator Program and other area resources exist to offer help and guidance to empower families and caregivers serving older persons.

There are many support services available for older adults and their caregivers. The Caregiver Educator Program provides educational presentations and workshops to community groups, faith organizations, and businesses. The Caregiver Handbook, with up to date resource information for caregivers, is available by contacting the Office on Aging at (410) 313-6450, or email at map@howardcountymd.gov.

The Caregiver Resource Coalition, composed of organizations that serve family caregivers, works to support and educate local caregivers. The Coalition meets monthly to improve caregiver support resources across the county.

For more information about the Howard County Office on Aging Caregiver Educator Program or the Caregiver Resource Coalition, call Valerie Liss at (410) 313-6060, or email at vliss@howardcountymd.gov.
