ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Howard County Executive Ken Ulman today announced a generous, but unexplained, gift of $81,796 left to the Howard County Animal Shelter by Mary Jean Harris of Columbia. Ms. Harris, a resident of the retirement community Park View at Columbia, passed away at the age of 89 on May 18, 2012 and left the balance of her estate “to be used for the Howard County Animal Shelter.”
