The Stage is Set for Howard County’s 50+EXPO

ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Howard County’s 50+EXPO for 2008 features daylong entertainment for seniors and their families. The event is free and will be held on Friday, October 17, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Wilde Lake High School, 5460 Trumpeter Road, Columbia, 21044.

Since all Maryland public school students are off that day, the 50+EXPO will offer grandparents and their grandchildren a little intergenerational entertainment with a performance by “Milkshake,” a wildly popular kids’ rock group. Milkshake takes the stage at 9:30 a.m. in the Rouse Theatre. Also, back for a sixth consecutive year, “The Capitol Steps” will perform their zany, high-energy political satire beginning at 12:30 p.m. in the Rouse Theatre.

The Columbia Association’s Café 50+ also features:

• 10:00 a.m. – “Thirst & Howl” Musical Productions – memorable melodies of the 1940s and the Golden Age of Radio
• 11:00 a.m. – “The Mudbugs” – members of the zydeco band Crawdaddies
• 12:00 p.m. – Ellis Woodward - popular favorites of the past and present
• 1:00 p.m. – “Petrock” – Music of the 50s and 60s
• 2:00 p.m. – “Carroll County Cloggers” – foot stomping entertainment
