Drawing will take place during “Come Home to Howard County” Housing Fair

Howard County Housing to Hold Open House at Lottery Townhome

ELLICOTT CITY, MD – Howard County’s Department of Housing and Community Development will hold an open house at 6418 Bayberry Court in Elkridge beginning on Monday, September 24 through Friday, September 28 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Bayberry Court townhome is one of three homes being offered in the Department’s upcoming housing lottery which takes place on Saturday, September 29 at 1:15 pm as part of the “Come Home to Howard County” Housing Fair. The Fair will be held at Wilde Lake High School, 5460 Trumpeter Road, Columbia, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Located within the Orchard Club condominium community, this newly renovated, three-story townhome is located in a forest setting complimented by manicured lawns. The home features three spacious bedrooms with two-and-a-half baths, Pergo laminate floors throughout the main level, upgraded kitchen and bathrooms, central A/C and heating, and all new ENERGY STAR appliances. Additionally, the 74-unit townhome community features a playground for small children, swimming pool and convenient access to shopping, schools and major highways (Rt. 100, the Baltimore-Washington Parkway, and I-95). The home is valued at $250,000, but will be offered for $199,000 through the lottery.

The other two homes offered in the September 29 lottery drawing are not open for viewing. They include a newly renovated, three bedroom single-family detached home located in the New Colony subdivision in Elkridge valued at $330,000 but offered for $192,000, and a brand new, three bedroom townhome located in the Cherry Tree subdivision in Laurel valued at $430,000 but offered for $140,000.

Everyone entered in the lottery must have submitted an application to the Department of Housing & Community Development prior to the September 21 deadline and all applicants must be present at the drawing to win.

The “Come Home to Howard County” Housing Fair is a free opportunity to learn everything you need to know about renting, buying or fixing up a home in Howard County.
