Regular trash and recyclying service is in effect and the landfill will be open. Howard Transit will be operating on a weekday schedule and all parking regulations and fees will be in effect. Thanksgiving Day Holiday All County Government offices, courts, animal shelter, landfill and library branches will be closed in observance of the Thanksgiving Day Holiday. There will be no trash or recycling collection on Thursday, November 26; the "slide holiday schedule" is in effect. For a complete explanation of the "slide holiday schedule," visit the Department of Public Works website. The libraries and landfill will reopen on Friday, November 27. Parking meters must have coins and all parking regulations will be in effect. Howard Transit will NOT run on Thanksgiving Day but will resume regular service on Friday, November 27.
