Once upon a time there was The Enchanted Forest... Howard County's famous fairy tale attraction. One of the first theme parks of its kind in the country, The Enchanted Forest opened in 1955 one year after Disneyland but sadly closed in 1985. The entrance sign and castle are now part of the Enchanted Forest Shopping Center. Recent efforts to rescue many of the fairytale buildings and characters inside the park are now under way to relocate them to their new home, Clark's Elioak Farm.
