ABC 7 has joined together with the Howard County Tourism Council, Howard County Economic Development Authority, and Howard Community College to develop the television campaign. Together we encouraged residents, out-of-towners, and businesses to discover what makes Howard County such a wonderful place to live, visit, shop, and work

We would like to invite you to participate in Explore Howard County—an exciting and effective television marketing campaign that promotes Howard County and local businesses. Starting in April 2006, WJLA-ABC 7 will air exciting new video segments that highlight the many wonderful attributes of Howard County. ABC 7 has joined together with the Howard County Tourism Council and Howard County Economic Development Authority to develop this year’s campaign. We will encourage residents, out-of-towners, and businesses to discover what makes Howard County such a wonderful place to live, visit, shop, and work.

This year in addition to the video vignettes highlighting the beautiful countryside, and wonderful venues and events that abound in Howard County we will focus on a new county initiative, the Blossoms of Hope. A new celebration is taking root in Howard County. Think Pink, because Blossoms of Hope: The Howard County Cherry Tree project has begun. As these cherry trees are planted and bloom each April they will beckon people to visit the many attractions found throughout the county. But as the name suggests, the campaign goes far beyond the trees’ annual display of beauty. This project is also about the hope of individuals in the community who are coping with cancer and proceeds from the sale of the trees benefit the Claudia Mayer Cancer Resource and Image Center. Indeed, our video vignettes will focus on the area’s rich quality of life, incorporating culture, economic growth, and a new celebration of hope…all that Howard County has to offer. Airing back to back with our feature segments will be 15-second commercial messages highlighting the sponsors of Explore Howard County. This is a wonderful opportunity to promote your business and attract new customers.

Viewers will get to know your business—and everything it brings to Howard County. Your participation in this high-visibility campaign will show your pride for the county and your community involvement.
