Commission for Women Newsletter Winter 2012
The Howard County Commission for Women (HCCW) was established by statute in 1980. Its purpose is to promote the economic, social and political equality of women. The Commission is comprised of twelve members, including one student, who are appointed by the County Executive and confirmed by the County Council.
In order to accomplish its goals, the Commission:
- Publicizes services and activities of interest to women.
- Promotes a positive image of women and recognizes their accomplishments.
- Encourages the expansion of educational and employment opportunities for women.
- Sponsors workshops and seminars on issues specific to women.
Anyone interested in serving on the Commission for Women should send their resume and a letter of interest to:
