Public Workshop

Saturday, October 15 marked the opening workshop for the creation of a master plan for Columbia Town Center. Over 300 participants attended the workshop, which was held at Wilde Lake High School.

Workshop participants gathered at tables in groups of 7 to 10, to share their ideas and concerns about the future of Town Center.

Each group translated their ideas into guiding documents, which will be used by the design team to develop a final master plan for Town Center. These documents included maps that used a combination of pictures and drawings.

Written lists of ideas and concerns were also created to accompany the maps.

After completing the workshop exercise, each of the 36 groups had a member share their vision for Town Center with the other participants. The documents created by each group are on display on the 4th floor of the General Growth Properties Headquarters.

Notes From Presentation

A description of each group’s presentation is provided in these notes. While this material is not a transcript of the event, it will provide you with a summary of what each presenter described as important for Town Center.
