Trashing your old PCs and electronics does not compute! Why e-Cycle? These items also contain valuable metals such as gold, silver and palladium, and can be recycled through special programs. Howard County's eCycling program accepts the following materials:
You can dispose of your eCyclable items at the Alpha Ridge Landfill. Residents using the landfill are required to show their drivers licenses as proof of residence in Howard County. Alpha Ridge Landfill Other eCycling Information Check out these sites to see where you can donate or recycle your old computer, cellphones, and other electronic products: Computers: lazarus.org General Electronics: epa.gov/epaoswer/hazwaste/recycle/ecycling/donate.htm Cell Phones: epa.gov/cellphones/cell-recycling-locations.htm Businesses who wish to deliver electronic materials to the County's eCycling center must purchase a commercial recycling permit ($5 per year). There is a business limit of 5 pieces per trip. Businesses with large amounts of eWaste are encouraged to visit: MDrecycles.org. Residents and businesses that are looking to donate computers should also visit this site. You can also recycle your cell phone by donating it to the Sheriff’s department to assist victims of Domestic Violence.
