Red Light Citations

Red Light Citations are issued by the Automated Enforcement Division of the Howard County Department of Police (410-313-3216).

Payment Options:

• Mail check, money order or cashier’s check made payable to Director of Finance to Howard County Maryland, Department of Finance, Parking Violations, PO Box 62098, Baltimore, MD 21264-2098.
  
  
• For a fee, citations can be paid on line (click here) by credit card (VISA, Master Card, American Express, or Discover). Use jurisdiction code 3001.
  
  
• For a fee, citations can be paid over the telephone using a credit card (VISA, Master Card, American Express, or Discover) by calling 1-800-272-9829. Use jurisdiction code 3001.
  
  
• In person at the Department of Finance, Cashier’s Office on the 2nd floor of the George Howard Building, 3430 Court House Drive, Ellicott City, MD. Payments in person can be made by cash, check, money order, or by Discover credit card.
  
  
• An after hours drop box is located at the Howard Building to the left of the front door. Payments deposited after 8:30 a.m. will not be collected until the next business day.

Include citation number or tag number with payment.

If your tag has been flagged from Department of Motor Vehicles, and you require a VR119 release, personal checks will not be accepted.
